Description:
pUC19 is a high copy number plasmids derived from pBR322. This 2686 bp long plasmid contains an ampicillin resistance-conferring gene. pUC18 and pUC19 are identical except that they contain multiple cloning sites (MCS) arranged in opposite orientations. It is a popular teaching aid for demonstrating plasmid DNA isolation, restriction digestion and cloning.
