Application
Diosgenin is a naturally occurring steroid sapogenin found abundantly in legumes and yams. It induces apoptosis in colon cancer cell lines, has been known to promote cholesterol production by stimulating biliary excretion and is often used a precursor of various synthetic steroidal agents.
