Cyanogen bromide is a pseudohalogen compound with the formula CNBr. It is a highly toxic, volatile, colorless solid and an activating agent (for insoluble supports in affinity chromatography) which is widely used to modify biopolymers, fragment proteins and peptides, and synthesize other compounds.
